Lisa Marie Rice

Interview with Lisa Marie Rice, our sixth author for LLC 2013!

Hi, we are Aurian from Boeklogboek and Maia and today we have best selling author Lisa Marie Rice visiting us here in Utrecht, Holland.

Our guest is Lisa Marie Rice, author of numerous erotic/romantic suspense novels. To be honest, romantica or erotica is not my genre, so I have not read any of your books yet. But Maia has, and she enjoyed them very much.

Lisa Marie Rice was a guest author last year as well, and her interviews and workshops were a lot of fun!

Aurian:            Welcome to Utrecht, the Netherlands, Lisa Marie. Have some hot chocolate and some Dutch cookies.
Lisa Marie:      Why thanks, I do believe I will! I lived in Belgium for many years and would certainly love some Speculaas!

Maia:               Can you tell our readers who might not yet know you or your books, a little about yourself? Something that is not in your official bio (which is at the bottom of this post).
Lisa Marie:      Well, as you can tell from my official bio, I am someone quite separate from Lisa Marie Rice, who is a fantasy woman. I am not tall and willowy and eternally 30 years old. And if men dropped like ripe pears at my feet, my husband would definitely have something to say about that! One interesting fact—I live in Italy, which is nice. The bureaucracy is horrendous but the food more than compensates! For many years I was a simultaneous interpreter and I travelled a lot. Now I travel much less and am happier. Writing my books provides quite a lot of excitement!

LL Convention questions

Aurian:            Could you tell us why you are attending the convention in Berlin, Germany, Europe, again? I know we had a blast last year, but how was it for you as an author? What are some of the differences with American conventions?
Lisa Marie:      It was fabulous being at the convention in Berlin! I loved every minute of it. I have been to a lot of writers conferences, but haven’t been to the RT Convention, which is America’s premier readers’ conference, so I can’t compare the two.

Maia:               The convention is in Berlin, a beautiful city. Are you planning to do some sightseeing? In Berlin or even in the rest of Europe?
Lisa Marie:      I’ve been to Berlin before. As an interpreter, I used to work sometimes at CEDEFOP, a European agency (it has since been moved to Thessaloniki). I even worked in the Reichstag! As a matter of fact, once when I worked in Berlin I was able to see the Reichstag wrapped in silver material, which was gorgeous!

Aurian:            There is a lovely group of authors coming this year. Last year you came with your friend and fellow author Shannon McKenna, who has only very recently been added to the list. Do you personally know any of the new authors present?
Lisa Marie:      Cherry Adair!! A good friend! I'm delighted she's coming! Don't personally know the others...

Maia:               The convention promo and books are in German. Will it be possible for you to bring some English books and/or swag?
Lisa Marie:      I’ll see what I can do! You know what the airline rules are for weight, though and paper books are heavy! But I will try to bring something.

Book questions

Maia:               Your first books were written for Ellora’s Cave. My first ebooks were bought from Ellora’s Cave, so this brings back good memories. For instance, among the first I bought was the Midnight Man series, which I enjoyed very much.
Lisa Marie:      Thanks. I loved writing Midnight Man. It was my first full length erotic romance novel and I knew, writing it, that I could never go back to pulling my punches. And Ellora’s Cave in the beginning was just a hotbed of creativity. Before Ellora’s Cave and some of the other digital presses, romance writing had a ton of ‘rules’. Don’t write this and don’t write that. Imagine—traditional publishers absolutely forbade fantasy and paranormal books because ---here insert snigger—there was no market for them. So EC and others just unleashed a tidal wave of creativity in romance authors who had been stifled for years.

Aurian:            You’ve switched from Ellora’s Cave to Avon. How does this work, did they offer you a contract you could not refuse, or did you or your agent propose something to them they liked?
Lisa Marie:      Actually I didn’t stop writing completely for Ellora’s Cave. For example, I published a novella that came out in December, the Italian. Avon, and other traditional publishing houses, offered something that EC and the other digital presses could not—widespread paper distribution. I was fairly well-known in the (then small) digital world but unknown in bookstores. Avon has been very good about paperback distribution. Of course nowadays, ebooks outnumber print books.

Maia:               Your hero’s are military men, or policemen. Why are you attracted to them in particular, and how about writing about a hot firefighter hero?
Lisa Marie:      I love writing military men and cops because right there, you know that the hero is capable of being dedicated to something outside himself. In general, this is a very attractive trait to a woman. I have written two stories about very sexy very rich men but I don’t think I could ever write a book about a rich banker or a CEO. It just feels narcissistic. My heroes must be serious, and must be good guys. And having them be soldiers and cops is a signifier of that.

Firefighters? Hmmm. Without detracting in any way from the sheer bravery (and sexiness!) of firefighters, their job keeps them literally close to home. They operate within about a 5 mile radius and this is limiting for a novelist. You need for your hero to have a wide range of action!

Maia:               You have also written books under the pseudonym Elizabeth Jennings, and Darkness at Dawn was actually your first book I’ve read. I loved it. Both the hero and the heroine are strong characters, but they worked very well together in solving an interesting case. Do you often write characters who can work together well as a team?
Lisa Marie:      Certainly in my Elizabeth Jennings books, the main theme was the hero and heroine working together as a team in the suspense plot. But also in my Lisa Marie Rice books, the couple becomes a team. And, like in all good teams, each plays to his or her strengths. I don’t particularly like kick-ass heroines who have to be better shots than the hero, and enter into competition with him. The heroines have their own, very solid strengths.

This touches upon another element of a romance novel. For me, anyway, I am describing the beginning of a love story that will last the rest of the protagonist’s lives. My job is to make you believe that this couple will survive and thrive. In the books, the menace they face can be that ticking close of a suspense subplot, but I want you to know that in the more mundane future, that love will survive illness, will survive economic setbacks, will survive all those million problems life throws at you. My couple is strong. They have each other’s backs. They will provide a strong and loving framework for their children. That love will never weaken and die. And that only happens when the man and the woman work together as a team.

Aurian:            What is next on your writing schedule?
Lisa Marie:      Well, right now I am writing the third in my slightly paranormal futuristic series Ghost Ops. I left the second book I DREAM OF DANGER (out in June 2013) on a real cliffhanger. I am also working on a fourth Midnight book (tentative title MIDNIGHT VENGEANCE) and I am about to self publish a backlist book, WOMAN ON THE RUN. So I’ve got a busy schedule!

Personal questions:

Maia:               We both have enormous TBR mountain ranges, how big is yours? And what do you plan on reading next?
Lisa Marie:      My TBR read pile is mainly on my Kindle, so it’s not a mountain it’s gigabytes! I do a lot of thriller reading—right now am reading Thomas Perry’s The Boyfriend and right after is Ghostman. I also read a lot of apocalyptic/zombie stuff, and have just downloaded Scourges. I’m anxiously awaiting Maya Banks’ next KGI book! I have about 700 books on my Kindle and I’ve read about 500. I’ll never catch up because that oneclick shopping is like a drug!

Aurian:            What would you be if you could not be an author?
Lisa Marie:      What I was before—an interpreter and translator. Well, more a translator, since I hate travelling for work. I love literary translations, it’s exacting, satisfying work. I was just offered a translation of a fabulous book but I turned it down, sorrowfully though. I’m now a full time writer but I do love translating.

Aurian:            Who are some of your favourite authors? Do you still have the books you loved reading as a young girl?
Lisa Marie:      My favourite authors? Shannon McKenna, Maya Banks, Nora Roberts. I really like Sylvia Day. I’ll read anything by them. Then: Lee Child, Michael Connelly, Jeffrey Deaver, Stephen Hunter, Robert Crais, Le Carrè. Some science fiction: Kim Stanley Robinson, Greg Bear, Stephen King.

And now for some fun quick questions:

Are you left-handed or right-handed?
Right-handed

What is your favourite movie, and which is the last one you saw in the theater?
I love movies but would have difficulty in naming my favourite. Last movie—Les Miserables, loved it! Cried my eyes out!

Are you a morning person or a night owl?
DEFINITELY a morning person. A lark.

What famous author, dead or alive or undead, would you love to meet and why?
Of all the authors I love to read, I think I’d most like to meet Stephen King because he thinks long and hard about writing and always has interesting observations. His book ON WRITING is one of the best I’ve ever read. Plus I like his political ideas. I think we’d be on the same wavelength.

********
An LCC 2012 picture

(Yes, I am one of the ladies in this picture).

Lisa Marie Rice is eternally 30 years old and will never age. She is tall and willowy and beautiful. Men drop at her feet like ripe pears. She has won every major book prize in the world. She is a black belt with advanced degrees in archaeology, nuclear physics, and Tibetan literature. She is a concert pianist. Did I mention her Nobel Prize? Of course, Lisa Marie Rice is a virtual woman and exists only at the keyboard when writing erotic romance. She disappears when the monitor winks off.

That’s my story and I’m sticking to it.

Now isn’t that an interesting bio to have? Isn’t that a thousand times better than saying that I’m a middle-aged, er…woman, no longer in the very, very first flush of youth, who basically sits in front of a computer screen all day in her pajamas?

I am so lucky to be Lisa Marie Rice! There is no literary genre anywhere remotely as exciting and thrilling as erotic romantic suspense. It has absolutely everything: red-hot passion, danger, adventure, heart-stopping love. I cannot begin to tell you how much I enjoy sitting down to the keyboard and bleeding…er, writing my heart out, falling in love with my men over and over and over again.

Well, why not? My men are brave and smart and built. And boy do they love their women! Their women are much more interesting than new weaponry, sports cars, and even plasma TVs in their eyes, and the fascination will last their entire lifetimes, I promise. It’s sex, of course, but also a whole lot more. My heroes genuinely like and admire their women, though in the beginning this is sometimes obscured by blinding lust. Once that first sharp edge of desire is over and they settle down a little—and that will take several years and a kid or two—they’re so bonded with their women that they couldn’t live without them.

And it is so much fun “being” my heroines while writing about them. You may have noticed that most, if not all, of my heroines are artsy in some way, just like me. It just sort of comes out that way. There’s not much calculation when creating my characters: They literally become alive for me and when my character says—I’m a singer or a designer or I love books—well, that’s that.

It’s fabulous sitting here in my not-perfect body and becoming the beautiful young woman that that ornery alpha male is glomming on to. Of course, my heroines are also in dire peril, which is not so much fun. And which is why I’m the writer and not the heroine (give or take a few years and a few pounds).

One true fact: Looking out of my study across my wonderful terrace I see a bright blue line which is the Ionian Sea. And if I had a powerful enough telescope I could see the Greek temple where Pythagoras taught.

Vivian Arend 5th LLC author

Interview with Vivian Arend, our fifth author for LLC 2013!

Hi, we are Aurian from Boeklogboek and Maia, and today we have best selling author Vivian Arend visiting us here in Utrecht, Holland. Vivian is an author of paranormal, shapeshifter books and contemporary romances. Cowboys, merfolk and wolves, oh my!

Aurian:      Welcome to Utrecht, the Netherlands, Vivian. Have some hot chocolate with whipped cream, and some Dutch cookies.
Vivian:      Speculaas! Bedankt. Although I could also go for a bossche bol with a nice cup of coffee.

Maia:         Can you tell our readers who might not yet know you or your books, a little about yourself? Something that is not in your official bio (which is at the bottom of this post).
Vivian:      Well, I can tell you I have a deep love for the Netherlands. My father is Dutch, and I have a tante and cousins living here. I’ve visited a few times, including a couple years ago when I got to meet a few bloggers from the Netherlands—which was very exciting.

LL Convention questions

Aurian:      Could you tell us why you are attending a convention in Berlin, Germany, Europe? Have you been there before? Or other places in Europe? Were you surprised at being invited to a convention this far away?
Vivian:      I have travelled through Europe a few times—first when I was young with the family, and then later when I came to the Netherlands to coach a sports team for a summer. We got to visit places in Germany, Belgium, France, Spain and England on that trip.

I’m thrilled to be invited to attend the LLC this year. Not only because I love to travel, but because readers specifically asked for me. <3 Such an amazing feeling for an author.

Maia:         The convention is in Berlin, a beautiful city. Are you planning to do some sightseeing? In Berlin or even in the rest of Europe?
Vivian:      Definitely! I’ve never been to Berlin, so after the conference my daughter is flying out to join me and we’re staying to explore. I’ll be talking to everyone I can during the conference for all the ‘must see’ places to visit.

Aurian:      There's a lovely group of authors coming this year. Do you personally know any of the other authors present?
Vivian:      I do! When I got the invitation I checked the author list and I was so excited to see that Maya Banks is attending, and Courtney Milan. Maya is a dear friend who’s encouraged me greatly in my writing career over the past couple years, and I’m thrilled to have another chance to visit with her. Courtney and I share a group of smart, writer friends and we’ve gone on a writer’s retreat together, so catching up with her will be lovely. And then, after I found out I was going, my good friend Thea Harrison announced she would attend!

Trust me: I’m a reader as well as a writer, and all three of these ladies write books that thrill me. Getting to be at an event with them is awesome.

Maia:         The convention promo and books are in German. Will it be possible for you to bring some English swag?
Vivian:      I will be bringing treats! And I know Samhain Publishing will be sending along both cowboy and wolfie books. Hopefully Berkley will have something as well.

Book questions

Maia:         I loved your wolves. The first books I read by your hand were the Granite Lake wolves.  My favourite was Wolf Tracks. T.J. is a bit of a goof, but he knows what his mate needs and gives her the space to find it herself.
In the last book of this series you branch out into other shifters (cats). And in the spin-off series about the Takhini-wolves there are bears. Are there going to be more kinds of shifters, even non-predatory species?
Aurian’s friend Sullivan McPig is still looking for a book with pig shifters, are you going to be the author who will make her happy?
Vivian:      Oh, Sully and Wolfie have discussed this issue. :D  The Granite Lake and Takhini series seem to be evolving into many species, but all predators. There are definite plans for another trilogy involving wolfies, and one for bears/other beasties. Piggies? I think Sully is one of a kind. There’s no way to make a hero better than him, so I’m not even going to try. ;)

Aurian:      You’ve written a lot of different books (contemporary, shapeshifters) all of them rather hot. Do you think you’ll ever branch out into Young Adult like so many other authors seem to do?
Vivian:      The first thing I wrote was a YA fantasy book, so who knows? I love what I’m writing now in terms of romance and looking for happily-ever-afters, but it’s possible that at some point I’ll return to that YA world and turn down the heat.

Personal questions:

Maia:         We both have enormous TBR mountain ranges, how big is yours? And what do you plan on reading next?
Vivian:      Shh, I don’t want to say this too loudly, but I just about conquered the TBR mountain! Seriously. Over the holidays we went on a trip, and I had nothing but my ebook reader and I just about knocked out ALL my new books. Now, I’ve been blessed with a whole bunch of ARCs from my writer friends. (Yes, it’s a perk of writing that I simply LOVE) I’ve already read the second book in Maya Banks Breathless series. FEVER is so good—such a unique heroine! And I read the upcoming Spindle Cove by Tessa Dare. And I consumed the next Green Pines book by Moira Rogers—all of these are favourite authors.

Aurian:      Who are some of your favourite authors? Do you still have the books you loved reading as a young girl?
Vivian:      Oops! I snuck in a few names in that last answer, but I also love Jaci Burton, Lauren Dane, Kit Rocha, Lorelei James. From my reading when I was growing up I still have all the Isaac Asimov, all the Narnia series and the old classics of “What Katy Did” and “What Katy Did Next”. I didn’t read the Canadian classic Anne of Green Gables until I was in my twenties for some reason, but I love them all now.

And now for some fun quick questions:

Are you left-handed or right-handed?
Right for writing, left for everything else.

What is your favourite movie, and which is the last one you saw in the theater?
Favourite movie has to be Princess Bride and my daughter and I went to Les Mis

Are you a morning person or a night owl?
Both. I like getting up early and staying up late, and then I need a nap in the middle of the day.

What famous author, dead or alive, would you love to meet and why?
Tough question. I think it would have to be Asimov, because he wrote in so many genres and was so detailed in what he wrote, and yet everything he produced I find so readable. I’d love to chat with him about his process.

Official Bio

Vivian Arend in one word: Adventurous. In a sentence: Willing to try just about anything once. That wide-eyed attitude has taken her around North America, through parts of Europe, and into Central and South America, often with no running water.

Her optimistic outlook also meant that when challenged to write a book, she gave it a shot, and discovered creating worlds to play in was nearly as addictive as traveling the real one. Now a New York Times and USA Today bestselling author of both contemporary and paranormal stories, Vivian continues to explore, write and otherwise keep herself well entertained.

(Not-so-official bio)

The 2007 Nanowrimo challenge in November triggered my addiction with writing. When I discovered ebooks and romance novels in 2008, the rush was on. April 2008 I began writing what became my first published work- Wolf Signs released March 2009.

Becoming a writer has given me friends from around the world, and allows me continue to use my imagination. Peter Pan had something right – there’s a part of me that never wants to grow up. Playing pretend is too much fun. It’s also possible to write anywhere in the world.

I enjoy reading and writing both contemporary and paranormal works. Outdoor experiences figure prominently in my work partly because I’ve travelled extensively with my husband and family – to places with and without running water. My current highest elevation reached is 5000m (Cotapaxi mountain in Ecuador). I can help build a house, sew enough to repair just about anything, and I know far more than 101 uses for Duct tape.

I hope you enjoy my work.

Michelle Styles - Breaking the governess's rules
Lekker luchtig vermaak. Wat ik wat minder vond was dat ze allebei zo goedgelovig waren, die jaren terug. Vooral Louisa, dat ze niet geprobeerd heeft hemzelf te spreken. Maar verder een goed uitgewerkt "second chance at love" verhaal

Vivian Arend - Wolf flight, Wolf games, Wolf tracks
Goede, maar korte weerwolf verhalen. Met heel veel plezier gelezen. Ondanks dat ze kort waren toch goede karakterontwikkeling en geloofwaardige relaties.

Karen Rose - You belong to me. Spannend boek. Begon met marteling, daarna wat traag, maar in de loop van het boek werd het steeds spannender. Het deed me denken aan de Law & Order tv-serie. Ik heb gelukkig meer boeken van haar.

Delilah Marvelle - Mistress of pleasure / Lord of pleasure
Hot regencies.

blij, blij, blij 17 boeken erbij

Een mooi lijstje van nieuwe boeken die ik deze maand heb binnen gekregen.

Gekocht van Aurian:

LLC Erin McCarthy

Interview with Erin McCarthy, our fourth author for LLC 2013!

Hi, we are Aurian from boeklogboek and Maia, and today we have best selling author Erin McCarthy visiting us here in Utrecht, Holland.

Our guest is Erin McCarthy, author of many books in many genres, but all with a humorous undertone. And all sexy!

Aurian:      Welcome to Utrecht, the Netherlands, Erin. Have some hot chocolate with whipped cream, and some Dutch cookies.

Erin:          Thank you!  How did you know cookies are my weakness?

Maia:         Can you tell our readers who might not yet know you or your
books, a littl about  yourself? Something that is not in your official
bio (which is at the bottom of this post).

Erin:          Let’s see… well, I sold my first book ten years ago.  Before that I worked in retail and stayed at home with my children.  Now they’re almost all grown up, with one away at university and one in high school, so my days are no longer spent carpooling and going to the zoo or sporting events on the weekends.  Now I spend my free time listening to live music, drinking wine with friends, and participating in a book club.  I love classic rock (the Beatles are IT for me) and the strange and unusual, like voodoo dolls and ghost hunting.

 LL Convention questions

Aurian:      Could you tell us why you are attending a convention in Berlin, Germany, Europe? Have you been there before? Or other places in Europe? Were you surprised at being invited to a convention this far away?

Erin:          My Vegas Vampires series has done quite well in Germany and so I thought it was a great opportunity to connect with some of those readers.  I’ve also had books published in Dutch and French, so perhaps some of those readers will be there as well (like you!) I have not been to Berlin before, but I have been to southern Germany, Switzerland, and France.  I love cities and I love old architecture, so I really enjoyed what I got to see of Europe.

Maia:         The convention is in Berlin, a beautiful city. Are you planning to do some sightseeing? In Berlin or even in the rest of Europe?

Erin:          I am planning to sneak in what sightseeing I can.  I want to see the Berlin wall memorial, as I was a political science major in college and was in my first year when the wall came down.  I also want to see the Jewish museum, the Bauhaus Archives, and the art museum, since I’ve heard modern art is thriving in Berlin.  Then I am heading south to Munich to visit friends and experience a more traditional Germany with castles and Bavarian food.  I’m looking forward to exploring!

Aurian:      There's a lovely group of authors coming this year. Do you personally know any of the other authors present?

Erin:          I know Cherry Adair and Karen Rose personally.  Karen is super sweet and Cherry is hilariously funny.

Maia:         The convention promo and books are in German. Will it be possible for you to bring some English swag?

Erin:          I was planning to bring books in German and Dutch, but if there is an interest in books in English, I can certainly bring those as well.  Email me your requests. J

Book questions

Maia:         The first time I’ve read some of your work was in the collections An enchanted season and A magical Christmas cat. I absolutely loved the stories of these three magical sisters. Is there a chance that the story about the third sister will be published in paper as well? I know you have self-published that one, but we both still prefer paper books over ebooks.

Erin:          I have now self-published a YA, The Coming Dark, in print through Amazon’s Createspace, so now that I’ve cracked the code, so to speak, I will probably consider going back and doing Abby’s story in print, but I have hesitated because the price has to be so much higher than an ebook.  But it’s on my radar and if there is enough reader interest I will consider it more seriously.

Aurian:      I’ve recently dived into your Vegas Vampires series and really enjoyed them. How many times did you go to Las Vegas for “research”? Do you think vampires really could be living there?

Erin:          I have only been to Vegas a few times, though I am going back in March.  But Vegas is so alive and fake and over-the-top that it’s easy to capture the vibe as an author.  I think if vampires could be living anywhere, it would certainly work in Vegas.  With all the costumes and the glitz and the late hours, it would be a perfect environment.  Where else can you get a haircut at 3am?

Maia:         I liked the idea of a vampire president election every forty years. What special perks does this office have for a vampire? How much power does he have over other vampires?

Erin:          I actually wrote the books about five years ago, so I have to confess I don’t remember all the details of the office, but I definitely patterned it after the US presidency, where he has a cabinet to assist in decision making and a senate to vote on changes.  As for perks, I would say free blood and a kick-ass suite to live in. ;-)

Aurian:      I also read one of your Fast Track books so far (and will definitely read the rest!). Do you know some race car drivers in person and are they really that hot? ;-)

Erin:          I do not know any NASCAR drivers in person, though there are certainly some hot ones!  Look up Kasey Kahne… what a cutie!  But I have met local and regional drivers and they are definitely an entertaining bunch of guys.

Maia:         The Fast Track books are about race car drivers. Why did you choose those men? Do you like to drive fast yourself? Or are you a very careful driver who prefers to stay home with her family and cats?

Erin:          I chose race car drivers because they are risk takers, quick decision makers, and always in pursuit of the win, which I think makes them very sexy.  They also are able to focus on one thing exclusively for hours on end, and in this world of multi-tasking, who wouldn’t want a guy with superior focus?  Imagine how that translates to romance.  Whew!  I’m not necessarily a fast driver, but I do get impatient and switch lanes frequently.  I have driven long distances by myself, and I enjoy that feeling of me, my car, and the open road.  Last summer I drove from Ohio to Louisiana, which is about the equivalent of driving from Paris to Berlin twice, and I really enjoyed it.

Personal questions:

Maia:         We both have enormous TBR mountain ranges, how big is yours? And what do you plan on reading next?

Erin:          My TBR pile is a bookcase.  Right now I am reading Unbroken by Laura Hillenbrand for my book club, which is about an American track star who became a POW in Japan during WWII.  It’s very well written and very emotional.  I didn’t have any comprehension of how much torture those men endured.  After this one, I’m going to need to read a romance to get my Happily Ever After fix.

Aurian:      What would you be if you could not be an author?

Erin:          I went to college to be a lawyer for maritime and international law.  But if I had to change careers now I would want to be a Realtor, as I love houses, or an interior designer.

Aurian:      Who are some of your favourite authors? Do you still have the books you loved reading as a young girl?

Erin:          These days, I read for research purposes, for book club, and whatever I get at conferences so I don’t necessarily have a favourite author or one I always turn to.  My reading has become much more eclectic, which I’m enjoying.  As a young girl, I loved the Hardy Boys and anything with a ghost in it.  By the age of ten, I discovered Stephen King and other thriller and horror authors, and I was hooked.  Then by fifteen I found Jane Austen and the Bronte sisters and it was love at first read.

And now for some fun quick questions:

Are you left-handed or right-handed?
Right-handed.  My father and my sister are lefties and I was so jealous as a kid.  Not sure why, but I was. J

What is your favourite movie, and which is the last one you saw in the theater?
I don’t think I have a favourite movie though I’m always drawn to period films.  The last movie I saw in the theatre was Skyfall, the latest James Bond movie.

Are you a morning person or a night owl?
Night owl, no question about it.  I can dance the night away at conferences.

What famous author, dead or alive, would you love to meet and why?
Edgar Allan Poe because I want to see if he was really a drug addict as they claim, mentally ill, or just a word genius with a lousy life.  I’m curious.
